Have you experienced tooth loss? Has your tooth loss begun to affect how you live your life to the point where you feel it is taking away from your quality of life? If you can relate to these questions and would like a solution, we invite you to visit our Sewell dental office and discuss the possibilities of dental implants with our acclaimed dentist, Dr. Barry Ettelson. Dental implants are one of the most popular treatments when it comes to the management and replacement of missing teeth. They can solve many of the issues commonly associated with missing teeth, such as difficulty chewing food properly and difficulty pronouncing words properly. Not to mention, replacing teeth that are missing is often a huge confidence boost for the patients at our Sewell dental office, as they can return to smiling with pride again.
The actual implant that goes directly into your jawbone is a tiny post made out of titanium metal. Over a period of time spanning anywhere from three to six months, the metal begins to integrate with the bone that surrounds it in your jaw. This process of combination forms what will be the “root” of your new replacement tooth. After Dr. Ettelson has confirmed that the new foundation of metal and bone is strong enough to support your new tooth, you will need to return to our Sewell dental office for the next part of the implant restoration. This consists of the attachment of a dental crown. The dental crown is essentially the replacement tooth. It is tooth-colored and made of materials so that it is able to function just like a natural tooth. This attachment process will complete the restoration.
